Tracey Restates Opposition to Development in Capstone Valley

Tuesday, 3 November, 2015

Medway Council is again asking for views from local residents and interested parties regarding revised proposals for planning application MC/14/2395.

This application sets out plans for 450 dwellings at Gibraltar Farm in the Capstone Valley area, which local residents will remember was originally submitted to Medway Council last year and generated strong opposition across the community. These latest proposals set out revised access arrangements and a Transport Assessment from the applicant, which is why Medway Council is again seeking views as part of their public consultation.

I have seen nothing in these revised proposals that suggests the concerns raised by local residents have been addressed, including the impact on local roads, services, the loss of vital green space in Capstone Valley and the damage to local wildlife habitats. I have therefore written to Medway Council resubmitting my concerns which can be viewed below.

It is vital that local residents take the time to resubmit their concerns about these proposals. The deadline for comments is 9 November 2015. More information on the application and advice on how to submit your views can be found on Medway Council’s website here and via the Save Capstone Valley campaign site on Facebook.
