Tracey to Host More Pensioners Fairs

On 10 May 2016, Tracey will be hosting the next Pensioners Advice and Information Fair between 10am and 2pm at the TA Centre on London Road in Ditton, Kent.

After the success of the inaugural year last year, Tracey is hosting the Fairs across her constituency for a second year running. Tracey is inviting all pensioners, their families, friends and carers to attend the event in the Tonbridge and Malling area of her constituency. It is free event which aims to share information and advice about the local services, support and activities available across the local area. Tracey said;

“I envisaged these fairs to be like freshers fairs for older people, championing the concerns of older people is something I feel very passionately about and is key policy area I have campaigned on in Parliament and the local community. I wanted to bring all of this expertise together in one place for the benefit of those who need the services and the community. I am delighted and completely overwhelmed with what a success they were and so I am committed to continuing them!”

There are over 30 organisations confirmed to have a stall at this event, including Active Retirement Associations, Care Groups, Kent Community HealthTrust, Seniors Forums, Arriva, Leisure Centres, WI, Gardening Groups, Citizens Advice Bureau, Charities and many more! There will also be a tea and coffee stall for all visitors collecting donations for the TA Centre who have kindly gifted us use of their space.

Recognising that with a little extra support older people can live well and provide an outstanding contribution to the community, Tracey is committed to taking a proactive approach. She said:

 “As a local MP I receive a significant number of requests each day from older people relating to a wide range of issues and am committed to taking a proactive approach. It is upsetting that so many constituents come to me for help only when their position becomes a crisis, so it is my aim with the Fair is to ensure Pensioners are aware of the various local services available to them and how I may be in a position to assist them to continue to play an active role in the community with the support that allows them to do so.

Tracey hopes these events will continue to provide local residents with useful information and encourages constituents pop along on the day- everybody is welcome!

There is free parking at the centre and a bus stop nearby.
