Tracey Encourages Constituents To Make Nominations For The Medway Culture and Design Awards

Run by Medway Council, the Culture and Design awards were created to celebrate excellence in the arts, culture, design and heritage. These awards serve to recognise groups and individuals for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the area’s cultural vitality. The aim is to to raise the profile of, and give recognition to the businesses, projects, people and organisations that contribute to Medway’s cultural offer.

Anyone living in the Medway area (past or present), or who has made a significant cultural contribution in the area, is eligible to be nominated for an award. The awards are broken down into three sections:

  • Cultural ;
  • Design ; and
  • Special achievement  

All categories will all be assessed by an independent panel of judges and judged against the following criteria. Each one will be marked out of 10 giving an overall total of 60. At this point there will be a shortlist and you may be asked to send in examples of your work, such as:

  • Innovation in your field
  • Contribution to Medway
  • Delivering new audiences
  • Quality
  •  National/international recognition/achievement
  • Accessibility / Usability 

All entries must clearly reference their work against the six categories to explain their achievements in each of these.
