Yesterday, Tracey joined year 5 students from the primary schools of Wouldham, Burham and Eccles, together with Trenport, in celebrating the fantastic work from the ‘Why I Love my Valley Schools Art Competition’
The compeition is sponsored by Trenport and was launched at the schools in January, followed by a creative, very hands-on workshop.
All Year 5 children were invited to enter an artwork, in whatever medium they wish, based on the Medway river/valley and the work can portray whatever each child chooses – the varied flora and fauna, the rich history, the new bridge or anything else that speaks to them of their river.
All entries were then judged by an independent panel of local people and the gold, silver and broze winners were announced by Tracey at the celebration event.
Tracey said: “Thank you to Trenport for continuing to run this fantastic project for it’s second year. It was delighted to see first-hand the fantastic art projects from all three schools and I can really appreciate the amount of hardwork and dedication poured in by each student. I am pleased to see the pupils work on a part of our local community and think about the nature that surrounds them. I would like to congratulate everybody who entered this competion to produce such impressive art creations and look forward to supporting the event again next year.”
A public exhibition was held in the evening for friends and family.
