I’m sure you’ve heard by now that Tracey, John and I are currently in Ecuador climbing volcanoes to raise awareness and funds for The Royal British Legion’s Battle Back Centre. On Friday we will start our gruelling challenge to climb one of the world’s highest volcanoes, Cotopaxi, which stands at 19,347ft! We’ll be roped up and using crampons and ice axes due to the crevasses, steep snow and ice slopes. We’ll be setting off at 11pm and climbing through the night for the final ascent of Cotopaxi.
Our team includes injured soldiers who have benefited from spending time at The Battle Back Centre. The Battle Back Centre helps achieve the best possible recovery for soldiers and veterans to either return to service duty or make a smooth transition to civilian life. We are hoping that through this expedition we will highlight the challenges that our brave servicemen and women who have been injured face, particularly the less spoken about mental scars of conflict.
Thank you to those who have already donated, this is much appreciated. If you haven’t done so already, please help support us and help us to achieve our fundraising target. All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated.
