Pharmacy Scam in Aylesford

Tracey has received the following information from Kent Primary Care Agency, regarding a pharmacies scan in our local area;

We have been informed that patients from a practice in Aylesford are being telephoned by someone claiming to be from a pharmacy offering to deliver medication to their home address, and requesting bank details for payment of this service.

The caller claims that the GP practice is recommending this service, which is not the case.

As you are aware local pharmacies offering this service do not charge for collection and delivery services, and patients are being asked not to part with their bank details.

If any patients visiting your pharmacy make reference to this scam, please ask them to contact the police and speak with their GP practice.

Tracey said ‘Please be vigilant, not only for yourselves but for vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours, like the elderly, who may be more susceptible to this awful type of crime.’
