Conservative Candidates Pledge to Campaign Clean

With the expenses scandal overshadowing British politics, it is important for candidates to try and restore voters’ trust and faith in politicians.  So as the 2010 General Election begins, Tracey Crouch, has signed a Clean Campaign Pledge providing voters with a clear personal commitment to behave responsibly and fairly during the forthcoming campaign period, and to uphold high standards if successfully elected to Westminster.

The postcard petitions against house building proposals in Capstone Valley have now stopped coming back to the office so I recently handed over thousands of cards to Medway Council Leader Rodney Chambers who in turn tabled them at last night’s Council meeting.

Flooding in Aylesford (again)

I spent much of this morning in my wellies with Cllr Dave Smith and local Aylesford village residents who had spent the early hours putting sandbags and floodguards in front of their doors trying to prevent their properties flooding. Rochester Road and Bush Row were yet again flooded due to the ongoing problem with the stream and all before the River Medway had reached high tide.

Six Key Conservative Pledges

David Cameron and the team will unveil at Spring Forum the six key pledges we will be fighting the election on. The pledges demonstrate our commitment to the NHS and improving standards in education, as well as getting Britain working again.

Three Excellent Days…

I am still working full time (the mortgage has to get paid some how) but this week I took three days off to do some meetings and visits that are impossible to do during the weekend or evenings.  Wednesday was absolutely jam packed. First up was a visit to the White Road Estate Community Centre to meet with staff and volunteers.

Towed Cars update

Having written to the local police calling for the owners whose trapped and abandoned cars were towed away during the recent snow storms to be reimbursed, I was pleased to hear Kent Chief Constable Mike Fuller urging those affected to appeal the charge.

For the THIRD time, proposals to concrete over Capstone Valley are being consulted on despite opposition from the public and our Conservative controlled council.

Tracey Meets with YouCan Cancer Support Group

Tracey was recently joined by Tom Tugendhat MP in meeting with Kate Thacker and Natalie Tegg of YouCan Youth Cancer Support, a project set up with the aim of providing support to young people whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
