Today Tracey welcomes the launch of Save the Children’s Read On. Get On. – a new campaign being driven by a coalition of charities, language and literacy experts, teachers, and businesses to get every child reading well at age 11, by 2025.
The cost of rail travel has been an issue for Southeastern commuters for many years. Since 2010 the Government has listened to Kent MPs concerned at the unfairness of the fare formula which saw Kent’s commuters suffer RPI+3 increases while the rest of the country faced a rise of RPI+1 and returned the county’s formula to that equal to everyone else.
This week Tracey met the recently crowned World Champions in the Women’s Rugby World Cup, and learnt about plans to encourage more women and girls to follow in their footsteps.
Tracey has today joined Animal Defenders International (ADI), the organisation spearheading the campaign to end the use of wild animals in circuses in Britain, to back a new bill introduced today by former Labour Defra Minister Jim Fitzpatrick MP to ban such acts.
Tracey is calling for constituents to get involved with comparethemarket.com’s latest Great British Switch campaign. This provides the chance to nominate a local charity to be awarded a £50,000 donation. The funds will be offered in recognition of a cause which brings local people and communities together.
The Prince’s Trust are on the hunt for volunteer Talent Match Mentors in Medway and Tracey is calling for action from local residents in support of the Talent Match drive!
Tracey has joined forces with women affected by ovarian cancer to call for local action to address the steps needed to improve survival in ovarian cancer in Chatham and Aylesford.
As a strong campaigner on better animal welfare standards it is with great delight that Tracey supports yesterday’s launch of a new website for re-homing pets – Find a Pet. It matchmakes rescue pets all over the UK with their perfect new owners, allowing members of the public to find new pets quickly and easily – and helping shelter pets find the loving homes they deserve.
Tracey is delighted to support Ditton Infant School in their Send My Friend to School campaigning! Tracey said “It was wonderful to receive their kind letters and buddy chain and to put it up in Parliament for others to see here.” Send My Friend to School brings together thousands of children across the UK to speak up for the right to education, and remind world leaders of their promise that all children should get the chance to go to school.
