Tracey has welcomed the news that the number of pupils persistently skipping school have fallen by 36 per cent in Kent and 13.7 per cent in Medway since 2010.

Tracey joined volunteers from the International Diabetes Federation and staff from Novo Nordisk and Roche, leaders in diabetes care, to raise awareness of the increasing prevalence of diabetes in the UK on Tuesday 25th March.

Yesterday, Parliament debated and approved the draft Diffuse Mesothelioma Payments Scheme 2014 which sets out the details and regulations of the compensation scheme to be introduced under the Mesothlioma Act 2014.

Transport issues remain a significant aspect of Tracey’s correspondence and none more so than rail services. As a result Tracey recently organised a meeting for Kent MPs to discuss the recent poor performance of Southeastern with Rail Minister Stephen Hammond. The Minister provided some positive news and a comprehensive update.

After tabling an amendment to the Mesothelioma Bill earlier this year calling for compensation levels to be raised from 75% of average civil costs to 80% Tracey is pleased, that despite being defeated at the time, the Government have today announced that compensation will indeed be 80%. This means victims of this fatal disease who are unable to trace their insurer or employer or both will be able to receive an extra £8K in compensation.

Tracey has pledged to support the campaign to stamp out the sale of irresponsibly bred puppies within Chatham and Aylesford and across the UK.

What on earth have I signed myself up to now?  Well actually a darn good cause, albeit one which is described as a “demanding challenge of considerable difficulty requiring technical glacier travel, mountaineering skills and a high level of acclimatisation”.  Gulp!

Tracey is calling for more local businesses to take on an apprentice, after new research revealed the extent of the benefits involved.

Tracey today met with the Prime Minister, along with other colleagues from North Kent and South Essex, to discuss the current proposals for a Lower Thames Crossing and the impact the proposed options would have on Chatham & Aylesford.  

Nominations have now opened for the English FA Community Awards 2014 and Tracey is inviting constituents to place nominations for an individual or a football club to stand a chance at winning one of the 8 awards up for grabs.
