Tracey attended alongside many esteemed Parlaimentary colleagues including the House of Commons Speaker and the House of Lords Speaker as well as Alzheimer's Society Chief Executive Jeremy Hughes and many other excited individuals including individuals with dementia to celebrate this exciting new initiative.

The Alzheimer's Society is working with the Speakers of the House of Commons and the House of Lords to champion the giht of people living with dementia and those who care for them. By creating a supportive environment for people with dementia, or anybody affected by it, Tracey is supporting Westminster in setting an example to the rest of the country and to Parliaments everywhere else.

A dementia-friendly Parliament is one which raises awareness and understanding of dementia among Parlaimentarians and the wider Parliamentary community. It will involve MPs, Peers and staff across the Parliamentary Estate.

There are three wats the Alzheimer's Society and the Parlimanetary authorities are working to create a dmenentia-friendly Parliament:

1. Parliamentary staff can attend our dementia awaresness sessions

The Alzheimer's Society will work with Dementia Champions, including a member of my staff, within Parliament to run regular awareness sessions so that staff, from security guards to caterers, will be able to better support people with dementia.

2. We can offer information and signpost carers to advice and support

Parliamentary stadd who care for people with dementia can access support through the Alzheimer's Society helpline on 0300 222 1122 and websitie, www.alzheimers.org.uk

3. MPs, Peers and their staff can attend dementia awareness sessions and will recieve information to support constituency and parlaimentary work.

With the right information, MPs, Peers and their staff can be better equipped to assist and response to constituents and people they meet living with dementia.

Please encourage all your friends to encourage their MP to sign up and find out more about how they can play their part in creating a dementia-friendly Parlaiment, please visit www.alzheimers.org.uk/dementiafriendlyparliament
