Today Sport England announced that following successful applications, Holcombe & Blue Bell Hill Cricket Club and Snodland Town Council have each secured £50,000 of National Lottery funding through the Inspired Facilities fund, which forms part of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic legacy programme.
The funding will now be used by Holcombe & Blue Bell Hill Cricket Club to build a new changing room block next to the current pavilion and to refurbish the existing building into a larger bar and recreation room. More information on the Club’s plans can be found on their website here and a copy of the letter Tracey sent to Sport England in support of the application can be found below.
Snodland Town Council will put their Sport England funding towards the extension of the local Community Centre. The extension will provide new changing rooms and a new hall for additional facilities for sport and social events for the growing community in Snodland. More details on the Community Centre can also be found here.
Responding to the news, Tracey said:
“I am absolutely delighted that clubs in my constituency have received such generous support from Sport England. I know a lot of hard work went into the applications and that the funding secured as a result will help improve these important community facilities.”
